What is the future of Commerce?……Social & Mobile
There has been a lot of info about Social media published with ‘Gurus’ popping up everywhere. Now with the relatively recent emergence of Mobile browsing though Smart phones the internet & commerce landscape is changing.
How much of an impact will this new emerging mobile technology have on the future of the internet and eCommerce? The below video was created by The Economist for their Media Convergence Forum and offers some perspective on the subject.
Mobile technology is continuing to grow at an unprecedented rate, and with it mobile browsing. In fact mobile browsing is growing 8X faster than PC browsing [Source: Deloitte, May 2009], it will soon become the primary connection tool to the internet. As the video details, this will create new opportunities and challenges for the future of mCommerce.
The statistics are based on U.S. information, however these trends are being replicated here in the UK.
